Framed 3" by 2" oval scrimshaw portrait of a stag signed BJ done by the artist Barbara Jean Woodburn. The frame measures 8" by 6" and is dark brown in color with gold and black trim. Condition is excellent for this C1970 piece, near mint. Barbara Woodburn has work in most maritime museums and was featured in the book Scrimshaw: Variations on a Theme by Martha Bowen.
